As many Kapalua home owners can attest too, Hawaii is a special place of magnificent beauty. Stepped in a cornucopia of intrigue throughout its lengthy Polynesian history, our island home has much historical and cultural significance which visitors and residents alike would do well to explore while enjoying their beautiful waterfront Kapalua Ironwoods residence or luxury beachfront condo at the Coconut Grove. While there are many ways to experience and enjoy Maui's history and cultural, one of the very best places to start is at the aptly named Maui Arts and Cultural Center.
Commonly featuring a variety of culturally significant events and exhibits from past to present, the Maui Arts and Cultural Center is one of the states' most valuable places to enjoy Hawaiian history first hand from a number a knowledgeable guest speakers, presentations, and films. One such presentation at the MACC: the Heritage Film Festival.
A special series dedicated to films which tell the stories of the indigenous people of not only Hawaii but throughout the Pacific, films featured in the Heritage Film Festival highlight Hawaii's diverse culture, amazing history, and current affairs affecting our island home. Of particular note, many shows include a Q&A session with the people behind the featured Heritage film after the screening. Sounds like fun doesn't it?
The next Heritage feature, "Lychee Thieves" - a cautionary tale approached with humor, premiers on January 29th, at 4:00pm at the MACC's McCoy Studio Theater. Sure to be an enjoyable time, tickets for this Heritage film can be obtained by calling the MACC box office at 808-242-7469.
