Pineapple Grill is a fantastic restaurant here in scenic Kapalua, and is being bought by Troon Golf Courses/TY Management. Troon manages over 250 golf courses in 31 countries scattered all over the world, and their success hasn’t been achieved by luck. It’s a company that has done very well by knowing where and when to invest. A valuable restaurant in Kapalua, Maui certainly fits the bill.
Pineapple Grill restaurant is located at Troon’s Bay Course clubhouse within the luxurious Kapalua Resort. Its previous owner of 11 years, Cohn Restaurant Group, manages restaurants all over the island, including Kapalua’s Plantation House and the beachfront Castaway Cafe at Kaanapali Villas.

The terms of the deal are private, but the community will surely be happy to know that the restaurant will remain open during the ownership transition, and even more importantly, the staff will remain at the restaurant. Ownership changes tend to make employees nervous, and often with good reason, so it’s wonderful that they have these assurances.
Although Cohn Restaurant Group is selling Pineapple Grill, they too are looking for opportunities to expand, according to co-owner David Cohn. That being the case, it’s a safe bet that Troon made a very good offer on the restaurant.
