Dine Out in September to Benefit Maui Student Nutrition Education

There are many ways to give back to your community, from fundraising, to donations, to volunteer work. But sometimes it's even easier. Sometimes, all you need to do is dine out to help make a difference. If supporting Maui's students is as important to you as it is to us, maybe you'd like to participate. Grow Some Good is a non-profit organization that provides Maui students with hands-on experiences in growing food and making good nutrition choices.

Appropriately, four Maui restaurants have partnered up to donate a portion of their sales to the non-profit in September. If you're here searching for Maui real estate, you've probably already discovered the charms of Maui's restaurant scene, and the delightful food that can be enjoyed here. In September, not only can you indulge in tasty dishes at some of the island's best restaurants, but you can enjoy knowing that a portion of their proceeds will help support the health and nutrition of local students.

The donations apply to specific menu items, and for every one of these items that a diner orders, the restaurants will donate a dollar to Grow some Good. Here are the participating restaurants and applicable dishes.

So, if these are restaurants that you like, or that you'd like to try, September would be a great month to swing by and enjoy a terrific meal. Of course, if you'd rather just donate to the organization directly, you can do that at growsomegood.org, where you can also learn all about what they do for Maui and its students.

In the meantime, we can tell you that they strive to improve the health of our community by promoting healthy, sustainable practices through student education. Not only do they help students, but also their families and the community at large as they help create affordable access to locally grown produce and teach about nutrition, health and fitness.

As for the beneficiaries of the restaurant donations, they include the following schools: Kamali‘i Elementary, Kīhei Elementary, Lahaina Intermediate, Kīhei Charter, Lokelani Intermediate, Maui Prep Academy, Pomaika‘i Elementary, Princess Nahi‘ena‘ena Elementary, Pu‘u Kukui Elementary, Wailuku Elementary and Waihe‘e Elementary.

Grow Some Good has a nice, broad reach, and the work that they do is important to the health of our future generations. So get out there and enjoy a delicious meal! Bon appétit, and as always, if you need our assistance with your Maui real estate search, you'll find our contact information at the bottom of the page. Mahalo!
