The latest edition of Troon Magazine has a fantastic article about our very own Kapalua Plantation Course. The article begins with a breathe-taking aerial of West Maui sprawled across two pages. Kapalua Resort is front and center. Home owners in Coconut Grove, Kapalua Bay Villas, the Ironwoods, and Kapalua Golf Villas are sure to think, “I can see my house from here,” when they see the article.
Troon’s golf experts agree that golf at the Kapalua Plantation course’s challenging length and the amazing views from the greens of Kapalua Bay course make these two courses the best in Maui. Of course, we already knew that. When the winds are gentle and the sun is shining, there isn’t a course anywhere that’s more beautiful and fun to play than the ones in Kapalua. When the winds are not as gentle there still isn’t a more beautiful golf course anywhere, though many would be more forgiving.
However, no matter how excellent Kapalua’s courses may be, golfing is also about variety. You’ll be happy to know that the Wailea Resort’s golf courses are only an hour away* and the four tiered tees readily adapt the courses to all skill levels. Spending a day golfing in Wailea is also an great opportunity to visit one of South Maui’s best eateries; Gannon’s offers breakfast and lunch from 10am to 3pm and dinner 5:30 to 9:30. Call ahead for dinner reservations.
Maui has several other excellent courses in Wailuku and Makena. If you’d like to test your skills at all of Maui’s fabulous courses you’ll need a place to stay. Talk to us about luxury Maui properties and oceanfront Maui properties.
*According to Troon, better give yourself an extra 15 minutes just in case.
