The right to vote. All Americans over the age of 18 are granted, by the United States Constitution, the right to have a say in who is to represent their community and values in important governmental issues. An integral part of life in America, this right to choose our representatives is a right which should be celebrated by every American throughout our nation. However, in recent years, this has not always been the case. During the 2016 election, voter turnout was reported to have been at a low of just 56-58% of voters, nationwide. At Sakamoto Properties, we feel that the right to vote should be exercised by all Americans, regardless of political preference. Watch here as our co-founder, Betty Sakamoto, discusses the issue of voting, and why it is very much an issue of great importance to her. Aloha!
