Do you know where the oldest school, west of the Rockies, is located? Here’s a hint: it’s not in the continental United States. That’s right, the oldest school West of the Rockies is right here on our beautiful island home, Maui. More specifically, it calls West Maui home!
With a history dating back more than 180 years, Lahainaluna High School is privileged to hold this amazing moniker: an achievement which is carried with pride by its entire student body and faculty. Along with this sense of pride comes the honor and responsibility of educational excellence which all “Lunas” hold in the highest regard: something which, unfortunately, is not always the case in some educational institutions. To this end, when the students and faculty of Lahainaluna High School need assistance in accomplishing their educational goals, the Maui community comes together to assist them in every way possible.
As part of this assistive effort, the Lahainaluna High School Foundation; a private, non-profit, fully recognized 501(c)3 corporation was created. Their efforts help raise funds for Lahainaluna’s educational goals and activities, which are essential to fostering an effective learning experience in Hawaii. One of our favorite ways in which the Foundation helps to support our Lunas is through a number of exclusive online auctions held throughout the years: The latest of which begins today!
